COFFEE EXPORTS: INCREASE "QUALITY" INWARD PROCESSING?
(HQ Online)- As one of the nation stand "top" in terms of production, but exports coffee to 95% of Vietnam's export products are coffee, a very small proportion of the remaining coffee is processed. This fact leads to profits are not commensurate with the volume shipped.
Export more, benefit less
Vietnam is the world's leading countries in the production and exports of robusta coffee (robusta) and ranks second in world production and export of coffee (after Brazil). Most coffee powder output is processed in small facilities, high quality makes it difficult to expand markets, "said Nguyen Trong Thua said.
Improving "quality" for coffee exports
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), global coffee consumption has risen continuously over the past 40 years with an average growth rate of 1.6% / year. For coffee consumption, export potential opens for Vietnam enterprises if the coffee is processed by line of modern equipment and technology, high quality standards and market expansion strategies bring the scientific feasibility.
According to Nguyen Trong Thua, in the draft, Department of Agro-forestry, aquaculture and salt production has only solutions "radical" to gradually increase the export value of Vietnam's coffee. It is going to build the production of high quality coffee and certified as materials processing service. The best way is each processing enterprises, preserving coffee must be combined with local coffee producers to find the materials and long-term stability, so that investment and contracting and purchasing products. Coffee products or later processed into coffee consumption can easily traceable.
Besides, the coffee industry should enhance trade promotion, market expansion, and improved methods to quickly purchase coffee through exchanges with favorable price for Vietnam enterprises.
In addition, business owners have invested in coffee processing plant must reassess line equipment and technology, building business plans produced on the basis of preparation of the capital to purchase coffee and the associated effects of coffee consumption XK sensibly. These plants, storage facilities are not effective then consider switching function or perform maintenance contracts coffee for other businesses in order to improve efficiency in order to avoid wasting inventory investment ...
